The most reliable all-day brunch spot in central Bath. Eggs Benedict, avocado toast, and American-style pancakes done properly. The Kingsmead Square terrace is a lovely spot for outdoor brunch on a dry morning — and the tables fill fast. Can get busy by 10:30am Saturday — arrive early or expect a short wait.

Two central locations. Strong coffee — one of the better espresso operations in Bath. The Kingsmead Square branch has the better seating; Vicarage Lane is quieter and better for working. Brunch menu runs eggs, toasties, and granola. The flat white is consistently good.

Walcot Street's specialist coffee shop. Seasonal brunch menu, good filter as well as espresso, and the right amount of character in a small space. Popular with locals rather than tourists. On Saturday, positioned well for walking the antiques market afterwards.

Possibly the best-value brunch in the city centre. Full cooked breakfast from £5, decent coffee, and an atmosphere that is genuinely local rather than tourist-directed. No nonsense, no frills, fast service. The YMCA setting makes it less obvious to visitors — it is usually quieter than the nearby alternatives.

New Bond Street Place · BA1 1BH

Richard Bertinet trained as a baker in Brittany, and it shows — the croissants, kouign-amann, and pain au chocolat are some of the finest you'll find in Bath. For brunch: tartines on sourdough, eggs on their own bread, seasonal specials. The lunch menu takes over from 11:30am but the earlier window is worth arriving for. Tuesday to Saturday only.

Bath's best fish and chip restaurant also runs a Saturday brunch service. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, kippers, and fish-based brunch dishes done at a higher level than most. Slightly more expensive than the others on this list but the cooking is several notches above. Saturday brunch from 10am only.

North Parade Passage · BA1 1NX

Sun brunch from 10:30am; Tue–Sat lunch from 12pm

Plant-based restaurant on one of Bath's most ancient streets (the lane that runs alongside Sally Lunn's). Sunday brunch is a special occasion: shakshuka, mushroom dishes, and excellent pastries from their own kitchen. The space is quiet and well-designed. Sunday only for brunch.

Italian restaurant that opens for weekend brunch — eggs, pastries, and a proper espresso set-up alongside weekend pasta and Italian breakfast dishes. Downstairs seating in the vaulted cellar; upstairs on George Street at weekends. Weekend only.
